Multilingual Content
This website’s host language is US English. It also has content presented in German and Spanish. We are using two different methods of managing its multilingual content:
- Dedicated Channel (weblog) - An entire channel within ExpressionEngine is dedicated to the content in one language. In this site it is the Deutsch Channel that presents content in German (with a small English translation block-quoted for our English-only visitors). When visiting this content, the website dynamically swaps all site navigation to German. Leave the Deutsch Channel for an channel that is in our host language only, and the site navigation will swap back to the host language; in this case US English.
- Blended Channel (weblog) - A channel may hold the content of two or more languages. In this site it is the Multilingual Channel that presents content in US English, German and Spanish. When visiting this channel’s content, you may swap languages dynamically using the links in the right column of the pages.
