eeSiteKit launched in January of 2009 and was immediately adopted by professional ExpressionEngine web developers and designers around the world. Following the initial release we received some very good feed back from eeSiteKit’s early adopters and immediately went to work on improvements that will allow it to do a better job for the people using it in the future. One of the things that the initial release didn’t do well was allow for easy development in websites in any language other than English; that is being addressed in 2.0.
Also, developers wanted a cleaner default design, pre-styled drop-down navigation, more specific permalinks and a number of other features that were not part of eeSiteKit’s initial 1.0 release. In February we began began working on some of those feature requests and started to re-evaluate some of our own initial thinking about how eeSiteKit is structured. This lead so some significant improvements to eeSiteKit you’ll see in the new 2.0 version.
